Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Policy
First America Metals Corp. (FAMCe) specializes in creating innovative, greener solutions for businesses or individuals
who want transparent and environmentally friendly methods of reusing and recycling electronic scrap, high-temperature
alloys, and non-ferrous scrap. FAMCe recognizes that the disciplines of quality, environmental, health and safety
management are an integral part of our management function. We view these as a primary responsibility and to be the
key to good business in adopting appropriate quality, environmental, health and safety standards. FAMCe’s Quality,
Environmental, Health and Safety Policy calls for continual improvement in its quality, environmental, health and safety
management activities and business will be conducted according to the following guiding principles…
- protecting the environment, including the prevention of pollution and protection of biodiversity and ecosystems through responsible recycling
- prevention of injury and ill health; providing a clean, safe and regulatory compliant facility
- meeting customer requirements and promoting an understanding of our customers’ needs and expectations, together with a culture of exceeding customer expectations
- managing used and end of life electronic equipment (Both FMs and Non-FMs) based on a reuse, refurbishment, recovery, disposal hierarchy including onsite and downstream materials management throughout the recycling chain
- continuous improvement achieved through monitoring of objectives and targets and rigorous evaluation of our management system
- communicating and reinforcing this policy throughout our company, as well as, to our customers, our suppliers and to the public
- adopting a forward-looking view on future business decisions that may have quality, environmental, or health and safety impacts
- training our staff in the needs and responsibilities of quality, environmental health and safety management
- efficiently perform the sorting, consolidation and material handling duties to improve productivity
- reviewing and revising these policies to insure they remain suitable and appropriate
- Adhere to standards of conduct premised on international human rights norms, Federal and State labor laws and prevailing industry standards to ensure the rights of the workers including a commitment to consultation and participation of workers and their representatives.
- The prevention of discrimination including: the fair and equal treatment of all workers, regardless of aspects such as, but not limited to, age, gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation, including compensation in compliance with applicable wage laws.
- A Charge of discrimination should be reported to the Human Resources Department and complaints investigated and completed through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Public Portal.
- Establish controls to prohibit unauthorized access to data containing material, follow legal and customer requirements, report known or suspected breaches, provide training, assign responsibility to Data Protection Specialist, and address non-compliance (including personal liability) to ensure all data containing devices are properly managed and effectively sanitized.
